Here’s people’s favorite methods of consumption:
- The Toss and Wash method
- Kratom tea
- Mix with Juice
- Kratom shake
- Kratom Capsules
Why use these other methods, each method has it’s own pros and cons and benefits that come with each one. I’ll elaborate more on them now.
The Toss and Wash Method
This one is by far the easiest but like I said not everyone’s a fan of it. This is where you just take a few scoops of powder and mix it in with water and toss it back.
The Upside to taking it this way is you get the effects of kratom faster and it’s more bio available which means it gets absorbed by your system more quickly.
The downside is it tastes pretty bad. Seriously if you don’t like the taste of kratom this option isn’t for you but I encourage you to try all the methods to see which one you like the most.
That being said, the other options on this list are designed around eliminating the taste while still getting the full benefits of kratom. With that being said, the next method is the next best option.
Mix Kratom Powder with Orange Juice
The next best way to take kratom is to simply mix it in with orange juice to mask the taste. You get the full effects of kratom without noticing the bitter taste.
This one of my favorite methods because you get the benefits of kratom and orange juice without needing a chaser to get rid of the taste.
Here’s how to mix the right amount of kratom with OJ:
- Get your scale and measure out your dose
- Mix your kratom powder with 10-12oz of orange juice
- Mix it thoroughly
- Gulp it down and enjoy the effects
This method is great to take with breakfast before you start your day, you get kratom in the morning and can proceed to have a great day.
Another popular option people really like is making your own kratom tea. The effects are more apparent and it feels more clean.
This option is fun if you like making your coffee/tea and want to try brewing kratom tea. The steps to make kratom tea are as follows:
- measure out your dose
- Drop into a pot of boiling water
- Stir and let sit for 3-5 minutes
- Strain the kratom tea or use a French press
- Enjoy your tea hot or chilled

A general rule of thumb is to add 1oz of kratom powder per liter of water depending on how strong you want the tea.
Kratom Powder Shake
This one is good if you like to make smoothies or protein shakes. You can take your kratom and add it to a blender full of fruits, juice and anything else you want.
The only thing to keep in mind is, if you go this route you’ll have to up your kratom dosage since kratom is usually taken on an empty stomach. To feel the same effects you’ll have to consume more kratom since your body is digesting other foods. On the flip side if you take more kratom while your body is digesting other foods it slows down so the effects last a lot longer.
To get the smoothie right just follow the steps below:
- Add whatever you want to a blender
- put 2x the amount of kratom you’d normally take
- Add enough liquids
- Blend until thoroughly mixed
If you juice normally this is a great option to take in the morning before starting your day.
This is by far the best option if you can’t stand the taste or don’t need a lot of kratom for a noticeable effect. Kratom capsules are the most convenient option if you’re out an about and think so kratom will come in handy you just carry around capsules and pop a few whenever you feel like.
The only downside to kratom pills is they’re a lot less potent than taking straight kratom powder. Each capsule contains about .5 grams of kratom so these are a good choice if you have low kratom tolerance and rotate strains often.
Taking kratom pills is pretty easy all you is measure out how many capsules to take (2-4 is usually enough) and then chug it down with some water or juice on an empty stomach. The effects take a little longer to kick in but they work well when in a pinch.
